The wait for the bacon-infused burgers from Slater’s 50/50 is almost over. The Southern California-based restaurant plans to open its very first Las Vegas location in late July at 467 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., Suite 100, the former home of New Day Cafe. The first of three local restaurants features a menu of crazy burgers made with a 50/50 mix of beef and bacon, along with over-the-top shakes, and craft beers.
Dishes here include an Impossible Burger for the vegetarian crowds and a Porkapalooza platter for the true pork lover. That Original 50/50, a mainstay on the menu, comes with the 50/50 beef and bacon blend patty, pepper jack cheese, avocado, sunny-side up egg, and chipotle mayo on a brioche bun. Deeper on the menu, the Best Damn bacon cheeseburger features Black Canyon Angus beef, thick-cut bacon, grilled onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Thousand Island dressing on a brioche bun, while the the P.B. & Jellousy comes with Black Canyon Angus beef, thick-cut bacon, natural peanut butter, and strawberry jelly on a honey wheat bun.
A smidge healthier, the rosemary turkey burger with spiced turkey with rosemary-parmesan bacon, smoked Gouda, organic greens, pickled red onions, roasted red peppers, tomato, and garlic aioli on a honey wheat bun.
Salads, wings, flatbreads, and local specials will also be featured as well as vegetarian options.
On the brews side of the menu, 50 craft beers on tap, including local selections from Crafthaus, Tenaya Creek, and Bad Beat Brewery. A full bar, boozy milkshakes, and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
Inside, the restaurant plans to feature a life-sized mural with Vegas-style marquee letters greeting diners as they arrive, two walls made from hundreds of tap handles, and pop art pieces of Slater’s signature burgers, designed by artists.
The restaurant also has quite a deal for employees who work 40 hours a week and attend college at the University of Nevada Las Vegas or the College of southern Nevada — all receive paid tuition for up to 12 hours of classes.
Slater’s 50/50 plans to serve breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late-night menus. The hours run Sunday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m to 2 a.m.
